Let’s talk dirt. German dirt, in particular. Grapes grown in clay soil typically smell wonderful, but they can be tart and overly acidic. Grapes grown in loess (German for “loose”; get it?) soil provide more fruit and body.
This DRY Riesling hails from a cross-section of loess and clay soil, resulting in pretty floral notes on the nose, with the distinctive minerality, ripe pear, apricot and lemon citrus on the finish. Classic, bright Riesling acidity keep things lively without being overwhelming. And that’s the scoop (of dirt) on this wine.
Try it with: Holiday fare, grilled prawns, chicken salad, roasted peppers on rice, mild curry
