Country: France Region: Sancerre Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc Vintage: 2011 Body: light Alcohol: 13% | Dropped due to Vintage Change Domaine Daulny features 37 acres of vines divided into about 50 plots with varying soils. These Sauvignon Blanc vines average 40 years of age and are hand harvested. A small percentage of the cuvée is aged in well-seasoned, oversized oak barrels, which gives the wine a bit more complexity without tasting oaky. Typical chalky mineral dominates the nose and palate, with apple and peach, touches of honey and big acidity to balance. A beautiful example of what Sancerre should be. |
