Country: Italy (Sicily) Region: Sicilia Varietal: Nero d' Avola Vintage: 2012 Body: full Alcohol: 14% | Nero d’Avola is considered “the most important red wine grape in Sicily,” and one of Italy’s most successful indigenous varieties. This bottle hails from the Southern tip of Sicily- the place of its birth. This wine has seen no time in oak, so the true nature of the Nero d’Avola grape can shine. Ripe blackberry and deep cherry notes are prominent on the nose, with just a hint of an earthy tomato note. The palate delivers more fruit and a nice, warm spice. It has a clean finish with some tart cherry and plum. |
