Region: Monterrei DO
Body: medium- full
Only 500 cases produced.
Here we have Mencia with a dolllop of Bastardo and Arauxa (the local name for Tempranillo). This red hails from the Monterrei region which is the driest and warmest area in Galicia (northwest Spain).
Combine low production (only 500 cases produced) with stainless steel fermenting and aging and it all adds up to a lovely rustic red with earthy, black berry, blueberry and strawberry fruit and a touch of black licorice and firm tannins. Perfect for a cold evening and hearty food.
Try it with: Braised short ribs, mild chili, roasted beets and yams, smoked sausage, grilled sardines, veggie or meat empanadas
Here we add information on wines as they come in. We will try to keep up with out-of-stocks and vintage changes but we make no promises. For the most up to date information call, email or stop by. Cheers!
